They have lost the golden touch that was once so revered about Yash Raj. However, there is still a certain kind of expectation when it comes to a YRF product. Actors still need to be a part of a Yash Raj film to qualify in the top league; such is the aura of this production company. And despite ‘Pyaar Impossible’ (PI) having Uday Chopra as the lead actor, it still made many hopeful. Add to it Priyanka Chopra’s charisma.

The point of writing all this is that despite the expectations ‘Pyaar Impossible’ fails. And this time it has not because it won’t be appealing to certain kind of audiences. Everyone has aspirations and personal heartthrobs. And often these heartthrobs don’t know you exist. Even the prettiest of the lasses have an unattainable crush!

What ‘PI’ loses on is writing. Turning an idea into a full-fledged film takes a lot of patience and skills - patience because you can’t take the easy route and skills because you need to know the right elements. Uday Chopra’s attempt at writing the story just turned out too amateur – be it screenplay or dialogues.

‘Pyaar Impossible’ starts out really well. The geeky character Abhay Sharma (Uday Chopra) and the happening Alisha (Priyanka Chopra) are introduced so well that it brings an immediate smile and you start expecting a good film. But that’s it. The writer loses no time in losing the flow of the story. The film stands still till the interval and even though it moves after that, there is every chance that it may lose the audience itself – to sleep or to more entertaining things outside the theatre. There is too much left at the interval point! The second half is far better paced but then this time the emotions don’t work out well enough. The dialogues, scenes, situations – nothing work out and the writer takes way too much liberty. ‘PI’ clearly could have been an hour shorter!

There are some bright areas too. Priyanka Chopra scores with her expressions. Her body language is such that she turns into this girl who you would fall in love with. Uday does his best but is not half as convincing. Dino Morea surprisingly is cooler as the evil guy. The scene stealer clearly is Advika Gaur who plays Priyanka’s six-year-old daughter. She is super cute!

On production aspects too ‘Pyaar Impossible’ scores like most Yash Raj films. But as the wise men say, the script remains the king! Maybe they will have to settle for a lot lesser than 10 on 10 for the first release of 2010!  You can safely miss this one.
